The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), led by its National President, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, has expressed profound joy and relief over the successful rescue of the school pupils and their teachers who were abducted in Oyo State.
Describing the development as a remarkable victory for Nigeria and a testament to the effectiveness of coordinated security operations, NAWOJ commended the Federal Government for its steadfast commitment and determined efforts that culminated in the safe return of the victims.
The association paid glowing tribute to the Nigerian Armed Forces, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, and Nigerian Air Force, as well as the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security and intelligence agencies whose professionalism, resilience, and collaborative approach ensured the success of the operation.
NAWOJ also applauded the Governor of Oyo State for his leadership, support, and effective collaboration with federal authorities throughout the rescue mission. According to the association, the seamless partnership between the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, and security agencies underscores the immense value of unity and collective action in tackling the nation’s security challenges.
The association noted that the successful rescue has rekindled hope among Nigerians and strengthened public confidence in the country’s security architecture. It further reflects the growing capacity, determination, and operational effectiveness of Nigeria’s military and security institutions in safeguarding lives, protecting communities, and defending national interests.
Celebrating the safe return of the victims, NAWOJ offered prayers for their speedy physical, emotional, and psychological recovery. The association also called for sustained investments in security measures, particularly around educational institutions, to ensure schools remain safe, secure, and conducive environments for learning.
While rejoicing with the rescued victims, their families, and the people of Oyo State, NAWOJ saluted the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of security personnel who continue to put their lives on the line in service to the nation.
The association reaffirmed its belief that through unity, vigilance, and sustained collaboration, Nigeria can overcome security challenges and build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous future for all citizens.
