The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, has distributed buses, tricycles, motorcycles, agricultural inputs and other empowerment items to thousands of constituents across the nine local government areas of the district.

The intervention was unveiled on Saturday at the 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme, held at the Minna Trade Fair Ground, as part of efforts to strengthen livelihoods, promote economic self-reliance and cushion the impact of current economic challenges on constituents.

Senator Sani Musa, popularly known as Senator 313, who was represented at the event by Prof. Saudaki Abubakar, said the programme was designed to provide practical support to constituents in agriculture, transportation, small-scale enterprises and other income-generating activities.

According to him, farmers across the nine local government areas would receive a total of 5,400 bags of fertiliser, with each local government area allocated 600 bags.

He added that 528 beneficiaries from each of the nine local government areas would benefit from the fertiliser component of the programme.

The senator also announced a ₦50,000 cash empowerment package for vulnerable constituents across the district to help them cope with prevailing economic pressures.

He put the total value of the cash intervention at ₦22.5 million.

The empowerment items being distributed include nine Hiace buses, 100 Hijet buses, 68 tricycles, 69 motorcycles, 663 grinding machines, 551 sewing machines, 500 water-pumping machines, 1,118 sprayers, 30 generators, 30 deep freezers and 50 hair dryers.

Other items are washing and drying machines, 39 sets of mechanical tools, nine professional tools, 30 plastic-welding tools, nine tile-cutting machines, 50 solar kits, 30 washing machines and 50 pressing irons.

Speaking earlier, the Chief Political Adviser to the Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, Hon. Nma Kolo, commended Senator Sani Musa for what he described as his sustained interventions and empowerment initiatives across Niger East.

Kolo urged constituents in Zone B to reciprocate the senator’s interventions by supporting his bid for a third term in the 2027 election.

“Senator Sani Musa has touched many lives and the only way to repay him is to re-elect him for a third term by 2027,” he said.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Sani Musa Advisory Council, Hon. Abubakar Azozo, assured beneficiaries that the empowerment items would be distributed equitably across the nine local government areas.

The programme, according to the organisers, is intended to strengthen economic opportunities for constituents by providing productive assets and agricultural support, while extending direct relief to vulnerable members of the community.
