As the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Corps Members conclude their mandatory one-year national service, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended warm congratulations to the outgoing participants, commending their dedication to national development and urging them to remain steadfast in promoting unity, integrity, and self-reliance.

In a farewell message conveyed through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC Director General praised the corps members for their patriotism, resilience, and commitment throughout the service year. He noted that their contributions across various sectors of the economy and social development landscape have reinforced the enduring relevance of the NYSC Scheme as a catalyst for nation-building and youth empowerment.

The Director General lauded the corps members for their diligence and exemplary conduct at their Places of Primary Assignment, emphasizing that their selfless service left lasting impacts on host communities. According to him, the achievements recorded by the outgoing corps members are a testament to the ideals of sacrifice, responsibility, and national service upon which the Scheme was founded.

Reflecting on the transformative journey of the service year, the NYSC boss encouraged the corps members to carry forward the values of discipline, leadership, tolerance, and patriotism acquired during their participation in the Scheme. He stressed that these virtues would continue to serve as valuable assets in their personal and professional pursuits, opening doors to greater opportunities and success.

The Director General further urged the departing corps members to remain worthy ambassadors of the NYSC by consistently demonstrating integrity, honour, accountability, and excellence in all spheres of life. He reminded them that the true measure of national service extends beyond the uniform and continues through responsible citizenship and meaningful contributions to society.

Underscoring the growing importance of entrepreneurship in national development, the NYSC helmsman encouraged the outgoing corps members to maximize the knowledge and practical competencies gained through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme. He advised them to embrace innovation, create value, and position themselves as job creators rather than job seekers, thereby contributing to economic growth and reducing unemployment.

He also called on the former corps members to sustain their faith in the unity and progress of Nigeria, emphasizing that the nation’s future depends on the collective efforts of its citizens. According to him, building a prosperous, peaceful, and inclusive Nigeria requires continuous commitment, collaboration, and active participation from all stakeholders, particularly the youth.

Reaffirming the enduring ideals of the Scheme, the Director General reminded the outgoing corps members of the NYSC motto, “Nigeria is ours; Nigeria we serve,” urging them to remain agents of positive change and ambassadors of national cohesion wherever they may find themselves.

As they embark on new journeys and greater responsibilities, the NYSC leadership expressed confidence in their ability to make meaningful contributions to society and wished them success, fulfilment, and distinction in all future endeavours.
