Her Regal Majesty, Olori Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi, wife of the Ooni of Ife, has been appointed Special Envoy and Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the World Investment Summit (WIS) Group, a prestigious global platform dedicated to advancing international investment, economic cooperation, and sustainable development.
The formal presentation of the appointment letter took place in Abuja on Monday, June 8, 2026, where former Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and Chairman of the Board of the World Investment Summit Group, Yakubu Dogara, officially conferred the appointment on the Queen.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Dogara described Olori Temitope as a distinguished symbol of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, leadership excellence, and global appeal. He noted that her appointment reflects the Summit’s commitment to promoting investment opportunities through influential personalities who embody the values, aspirations, and potential of emerging economies.
According to him, Nigeria remains one of Africa’s most strategic investment destinations, blessed with immense human capital, abundant natural resources, a growing digital economy, and significant opportunities across agriculture, energy, infrastructure, technology, and the creative industries.
“Her Royal Majesty represents the very best of Nigeria. She embodies integrity, compassion, cultural diplomacy, and visionary leadership. We are confident that her role as Special Envoy will strengthen global engagement and attract meaningful investments that can drive economic transformation,” Dogara stated.
The World Investment Summit (WIS) is widely regarded as a premier international forum designed to bring together governments, investors, financial institutions, development partners, corporate leaders, innovators, and policymakers to shape the future of global investment.
Scheduled to hold in Abuja from October 14 to 16, 2026, the proposed World Investment Summit 2026 is expected to attract more than 8,000 participants, including heads of state, ministers, diplomats, chief executives of multinational corporations, sovereign wealth fund managers, investment promotion agencies, development finance institutions, academics, and global media organizations.

Under its proposed framework, the summit seeks to stimulate investments in critical sectors such as renewable energy, digital transformation, healthcare, agriculture, climate finance, infrastructure, public-private partnerships, and emerging technologies.
The event is also expected to provide a high-level platform for policy dialogue, investment facilitation, and strategic partnerships aimed at advancing sustainable development goals while positioning developing economies at the center of global capital flows.
Organizers of the Summit believe Nigeria is uniquely positioned to host the landmark gathering owing to its status as Africa’s largest economy, its strategic role in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and ongoing reforms designed to attract foreign direct investment.
The Summit’s projected outcomes include major investment commitments, expanded public-private partnerships, policy reforms, enhanced technology transfer, climate finance mobilization, and the establishment of new frameworks to strengthen investment governance and economic competitiveness.
In her response, Olori Temitope expressed profound gratitude for the recognition and confidence reposed in her by the World Investment Summit Group.
Describing the appointment as both an honour and a responsibility, she pledged to serve diligently and to leverage the platform to promote investment, economic cooperation, and sustainable development.
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and the trust placed in me. I will strive to be a worthy ambassador of the World Investment Summit Group and a strong advocate for initiatives that foster economic growth and global partnerships,” she said.
The Queen further emphasized that Nigeria remains a land of immense possibilities, endowed with abundant resources, a vibrant entrepreneurial population, and a rapidly expanding market capable of delivering significant returns on investment.
She called on investors across the world to explore the numerous opportunities available in Nigeria, stressing that strategic investments in key sectors would not only generate business growth but also contribute to job creation, innovation, and inclusive development.
“Nigeria is a nation of great opportunities. We welcome investors from around the world to partner with us in unlocking the enormous potential that exists across our economy. Together, we can build sustainable prosperity and create lasting value for future generations,” she added.
The appointment is expected to further strengthen the global visibility of the World Investment Summit Group while leveraging the influence of traditional institutions and cultural diplomacy to promote investment-driven development across Nigeria, Africa, and the wider international community.
