Ngozi Oyewole Commends Women Affairs Minister, Unveils Cooperative Society for Women Entrepreneurs

The Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda (BWI-RHA) has thrown its weight behind the Federal Government’s National E-Mobility Programme for Nigerian Women, describing the initiative as a strategic intervention capable of opening new economic opportunities for women and strengthening their financial independence.
BWI-RHA was well represented at the flag-off ceremony of the programme, a collaborative initiative of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and private-sector partners designed to empower Nigerian women to own electric vehicles, generate additional income and participate actively in the country’s emerging e-mobility sector.
The Director-General of BWI-RHA, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole represented by the organisation’s Director of Media and Communications, Ms. Evelyn Onyilo commended the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, for initiating the programme, noting that the intervention could go a long way in creating wealth and sustainable livelihoods for Nigerian women entrepreneurs.
She described the e-mobility initiative as an opportunity for women to move beyond traditional economic activities and take advantage of emerging sectors capable of generating sustainable income.
According to her, women’s economic empowerment remains central to the vision of BWI-RHA, which continues to support initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, financial independence and improved livelihoods for women.
BWI-RHA Unveils Cooperative Initiative
Oyewole also used the opportunity to announce that, in furtherance of the organisation’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment, BWI-RHA has established its Cooperative Society, with registration of members currently ongoing.
The D-G BWI-RHA encouraged women entrepreneurs to take advantage of the cooperative platform, saying membership would provide an avenue for women to strengthen and expand their small and medium-scale businesses.
She urged women to actively participate in the initiative and explore opportunities that could improve their businesses, increase their earning capacity and enhance their economic independence.
Minister Urges Beneficiaries to Maximise Opportunity
Earlier, the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, represented by her Senior Adviser, Technical and Community Engagement, Dr. Jummai Idonije, urged prospective beneficiaries of the e-mobility programme to make effective use of the electric tricycles provided to them.
Idonije advised beneficiaries to regard the tricycles as income-generating assets capable of improving their livelihoods and supporting their families.
She specifically cautioned beneficiaries against selling the tricycles, stressing the importance of using the vehicles for the purpose for which the programme was established.
The National E-Mobility Programme for Nigerian Women represents a convergence of women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship and sustainable transportation, with the potential to create new livelihood opportunities while encouraging greater participation of women in Nigeria’s evolving green economy.
For BWI-RHA, its participation underscores the organisation’s commitment to supporting practical initiatives that translate women’s empowerment from policy declarations into real opportunities, productive assets and sustainable sources of income.
