Coalition Hails His Integrity, Patriotism and Loyalty, Says He Exemplifies Effective Public Administration

By Abdul Suleiman

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice has conferred its prestigious Transparency and Excellence in Public Service Award on the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim (Mamser), in recognition of his exemplary leadership, integrity, patriotism and commitment to good governance.

The award followed a comprehensive assessment of his stewardship as a key pillar of the Jigawa State Government under the administration of Governor Malam Umar Namadi, where he has continued to demonstrate competence, accountability and dedication to public service.

Why Bala Ibrahim?

At a time when public confidence in governance remains a critical concern, the Coalition described Malam Bala Ibrahim as a shining example of transparency, patriotism and loyalty, noting that his contributions to governance in Jigawa State deserve commendation.

Transparency: As Secretary to the Government, Ibrahim has consistently promoted openness, accountability and due process in government operations. His involvement in initiatives such as the inauguration of committees on farmers-herders’ peace, the task force on the retrieval of government official plate numbers, and collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to combat electoral corruption and vote-buying reflects his commitment to accountability and responsible governance.

Patriotism: A former journalist turned administrator, Ibrahim has served Jigawa State with dedication, first as Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, and subsequently as Secretary to the Government. His commitment to the 12-Point Agenda of Governor Namadi, alongside initiatives on safe motherhood, education, peace and security, underscores his dedication to the development of the state and the nation.

Loyalty: The Coalition also commended his steadfastness, reliability and stabilising role within the executive arm of government. Through effective coordination of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), disciplined administrative leadership and commitment to policy implementation, Ibrahim has contributed significantly to executive stability and governance efficiency.

The Coalition noted that recognising individuals who distinguish themselves in public service would encourage others to embrace excellence, integrity and accountability, stressing that Malam Bala Ibrahim is deserving of the honour.

The Coalition announced that the award plaque would be formally presented to the Jigawa State SSG at his office as scheduled below:

Date: Sunday, November 16, 2026
Venue: Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Dutse, Jigawa State.

Members of the Coalition, civil society leaders, journalists and well-wishers are expected to attend the ceremony.

Congratulating Malam Bala Ibrahim on the recognition, the Coalition also commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for appointing an individual it described as a man of character, competence and credibility to the strategic position of Secretary to the Government.

The Coalition further urged public office holders across Nigeria to emulate Ibrahim’s example by upholding transparency, demonstrating patriotism and remaining faithful to the responsibilities and oath of their respective offices.
