The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of officers and their families, with a renewed focus on providing access to quality education for their children.
Marwa gave the assurance on Friday, October 30, 2026, during a working visit to the newly established NDLEA Command School at the Agency’s Barracks in Yola, Adamawa State.
During the visit, the NDLEA chairman inspected the school’s facilities and interacted with pupils, students and members of staff to assess the institution’s progress and development.
Addressing the students, Marwa urged them to embrace discipline, punctuality and academic excellence, describing these values as essential foundations for achieving their aspirations and securing a brighter future.
He encouraged them to take their studies seriously, cultivate the habit of reading, prepare adequately for examinations and demonstrate respect for their parents and teachers.
The NDLEA boss also admonished the students to uphold their religious values and shun illicit drugs, stressing that avoiding drug abuse was critical to protecting their future and achieving their life ambitions.
Marwa assured the school community of his continued support for the institution’s growth, expressing confidence that it would develop into one of the leading schools in the country.
He explained that the establishment of the pioneer Command School was part of the Agency’s commitment to ensuring that children of its personnel have access to quality education within their immediate community.
The NDLEA chairman also met with members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and other residents of the barracks during the visit.
The women commended Marwa for establishing the school, describing the initiative as a significant investment in the education, welfare and future of children of NDLEA personnel.
They also applauded his leadership and the remarkable transformation recorded within the Agency.
In response, Marwa expressed appreciation for their support, reiterating that the welfare of officers and their families would remain a priority under his leadership.
He further disclosed that arrangements were at an advanced stage for the formal inauguration of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association.
According to him, the association would provide an organised platform for officers’ wives to foster unity, collaborate, support one another and contribute meaningfully to the welfare and well-being of the NDLEA community.
Marwa was accompanied on the visit by the Zone 2 Commander, ACGN Ishaku Yusuf Kwajafa, and other senior officers of the Agency.
