The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, has given heads of campaign committees 72 hours to submit detailed action plans as the ruling party intensifies preparations for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Yari issued the directive on Tuesday in Abuja during the inaugural meeting of the PCC Executive Committee, urging committee heads and secretaries to consult their teams, identify priorities and outline practical strategies for executing their assignments.

He said the submissions would be reviewed by the council’s leadership to determine the support required for implementation, stressing that campaign officials must translate their appointments into measurable results.

“The engine room is here,” Yari told members, emphasising the critical role of the committees in driving the campaign’s operations.

He reminded members that their appointments by President Tinubu came with responsibilities that demanded commitment, discipline and performance.

“This responsibility given to us by Mr President is on trust, and we have to do our best to ensure that this trust is demonstrated,” he said.

Yari directed committee leaders to return to their teams immediately, convene meetings and develop workable plans within the stipulated deadline. He explained that the PCC secretariat would receive the proposals for review before they were forwarded to the appropriate leadership for consideration.

The directive signals an early push for coordination and accountability within the campaign structure, shifting attention from appointments to operational readiness.

The Director-General also expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, urging members to work collectively towards securing another presidential mandate for Tinubu. However, he acknowledged that the anticipated victory would depend on the collective efforts of campaign officials rather than confidence alone.

President Tinubu chairs the Presidential Campaign Council, with Yari serving as Director-General and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary.

As the APC prepares for the 2027 presidential election, the immediate challenge is to translate the committees’ proposals into coordinated grassroots mobilisation, effective political engagement and strategies that address voters’ concerns nationwide.

With the 72-hour deadline now set, the council’s ability to turn plans into concrete action will be an early test of its preparedness for the re-election campaign.
