The National APC Women Advocacy Organization (NAWA-ORG) has expressed profound grief over the passing of its National Empowerment Coordinator, Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar, describing her death as a monumental loss to the organization, the political community, and the countless lives she touched through her unwavering commitment to service.
In an official condolence statement signed by the Director General of NAWA-ORG, Dr. Amina A. Kundiri, the organization said it received the news of Dr. Gupar’s passing with “the heaviest of hearts,” paying glowing tribute to her remarkable legacy of philanthropy, grassroots mobilization, and women-focused advocacy.
According to the statement, Dr. Gupar dedicated her life to empowering women, uplifting vulnerable communities, and championing causes that promoted social justice and inclusive development. As National Empowerment Coordinator, she served NAWA-ORG with exceptional dedication, playing a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s vision of strengthening women, families, and communities across Nigeria.
The organization also reflected on her recent political journey, recalling her courageous aspiration to represent the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Though unsuccessful at the polls, Dr. Gupar remained resolute and committed to public service, continuing to inspire hope, mobilize communities, and advocate for meaningful development with resilience and selfless dedication.
“Her passing is a profound loss, not only to NAWA-ORG but also to the people she faithfully served and to everyone privileged to know and work alongside her. Her legacy of compassion, integrity, courage, and unwavering commitment to humanity will continue to inspire generations,” the statement read.
On behalf of the National Executive Council, state chapters, and the entire NAWA-ORG family, the organization extended its deepest condolences to Dr. Gupar’s family, friends, political associates, supporters, and the people of her constituency.
NAWA-ORG prayed for God to grant her eternal rest and comfort all those mourning her passing, while urging members and supporters to uphold the values of service, compassion, and empowerment that she exemplified throughout her life.
