ABUJA, NIGERIA-The National Secretariat of the Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity, and Justice has strongly condemned the malicious rumors circulating online regarding an impending “military leadership shake-up.”

The Coalition dismisses these claims as psychological warfare sponsored by war profiteers and political detractors to demoralize frontline troops and undermine the ongoing, successful operations of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.

To counter this toxic propaganda and build a solid civil-military shield, the Coalition, in collaboration with the Network of Youth Groups in Nigeria, is hosting a high-level National Security Summit in Abuja on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

The Summit will serve as a massive public vote of confidence in our Armed Forces, bringing together security chiefs, youth networks, and civil watchdogs to strengthen grassroots intelligence sharing and non-kinetic national defense. Purveyors of fake news are warned to desist, as the Nigerian masses stand firmly behind the military.

Comrade James Okoronkwo
National Coordinator / Convener
Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity, and Justice
