The Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda (BWI-RHA), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, has taken a significant step towards advancing women’s economic empowerment and grassroots mobilisation with the inauguration of its executive committee and the commencement of organisational structures across the six area councils of the FCT.

The landmark decisions were reached during the chapter’s inaugural meeting held in Abuja on Saturday, July 4, 2026, where women from various Area Councils, wards and communities in FCT converged to chart a strategic course for the growth of the association and its mission of empowering women through entrepreneurship, leadership development, advocacy, and humanitarian initiatives.
The gathering marked the beginning of what members described as a transformative movement aimed at creating opportunities for women in business and other productive sectors while strengthening their participation in national development.
Speaking during the meeting, the National Director of Media and Communication Committee, Hon. Evelyn Onyilo, commended members for their impressive turnout, enthusiasm, and commitment to the vision of the organisation.
She explained that BWI-RHA was established as a platform dedicated to supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs, professionals, and grassroots women through mentorship, capacity-building programmes, economic empowerment initiatives, and strategic networking opportunities.
According to her, the organisation remains committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election. However, she stressed that the organisation’s broader mandate extends beyond politics to the advancement of women, families, and communities across Nigeria.

“BWI-RHA was founded on the belief that empowered women build stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger nation. Our mission is to create opportunities that enable women to thrive economically, socially, and professionally while contributing meaningfully to national development,” she said.
Hon. Onyilo further highlighted the vision of the Founder and Director-General of the organisation, Dr. Ngozi Oyewole, describing it as a bold and inclusive agenda designed to unlock the vast potential of Nigerian women regardless of their social, economic, or educational backgrounds.
She noted that through strategic partnerships, empowerment programmes, humanitarian interventions, and grassroots engagement, the organisation seeks to equip women with the tools and support required to become catalysts for sustainable development in their communities.
Also addressing members, the FCT State Coordinator, Hon. Talatu Mohammed Kabir, expressed appreciation to participants for their commitment and confidence in the organisation. She pledged to build a vibrant, inclusive, and result-oriented chapter that would effectively reach women in every ward and community across the Federal Capital Territory.
She assured members that the chapter would operate an open-door policy that encourages active participation, inclusiveness, accountability, and collective leadership.
“Our focus is to build strong structures from the grassroots to the state level, ensuring that every woman who shares the vision of empowerment and community development has a platform to contribute and grow,” she stated.
A major highlight of the meeting was the formal presentation and ratification of the FCT Executive Committee. The leadership team is headed by Hon. Talatu Mohammed Kabir as State Coordinator, supported by Ezinne Lolo Ngozi Chukwu as Deputy Coordinator.
Other members of the executive committee include Mrs. Tina Ihejieto as Secretary, Mrs. Ozoezi Henrietta Chimezie as Assistant Secretary, Binta Kawu as Director of Membership Mobilisation, Rakiya Ibrahim as Director of Grassroots Mobilisation, Happiness Bassey as Director of Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Queen Kunde as Public Relations Officer, Helen Zamani as Director of Political Affairs and Stakeholders Engagement, Fatima Yakubu as Director of Finance, Hon. Mary T. Musa as Treasurer, Nnenna Emedolibe as Director of Welfare, Monica Danladi as Director of Protocol and Events, Bola Koforola as Auditor, and Nkemjika Nwachukwu as Youth Leader.
The congress also initiated the process of constituting leadership structures across the six area councils of the FCT, with representatives from all councils actively participating in the exercise. The move is expected to deepen the organisation’s grassroots presence and strengthen its capacity to reach women at the community level.
Members expressed optimism that the establishment of functional structures across the area councils would enhance membership mobilisation, improve coordination of empowerment programmes, and facilitate the implementation of initiatives aimed at supporting women-led businesses and community development projects.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitment from participants to work collectively towards the growth of the organisation and the achievement of its objectives.
Proceedings were subsequently adjourned to July 18, 2026, when members are expected to deliberate on preparations for the formal launch of the BWI-RHA FCT Chapter, an event anticipated to bring together women leaders, entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and development partners from across the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
With its grassroots mobilisation strategy already underway and a leadership team now firmly in place, the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda appears poised to emerge as a formidable platform for women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and community transformation in the FCT and across Nigeria.
