Immediate past Director General of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Dr Asabe Vilita Bashir on Thursday 30th April 2026 picked the APC Nomination Forms to contest for the 2027 election into the House of Representatives.
She is seeking to represent the people of Chibok-Damboa- Gwoza Federal Constituency of Borno State.
Speaking to journalists shortly after picking her nomination forms at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Dr Vilita Bashir who recently resigned her position as Director General of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development stated that she will be contesting the position following the call of her people and teeming supporters to go into the contest.
She said her constituents believe in her ability to offer transformative Leadership that would improve the living conditions of the three local government areas that make up the Federal Constituency.
She stated that having served in that capacity previously between 2015 to 2019, she is confident that she knows the needs of her people and would do her best to offer quality representation at the House of Representatives when elected.
She expressed appreciation to her teeming supporters for the confidence in her and prayed for overwhelming victory at both the primaries and general election.
Dr Vilita Bashir was accompanied to the Venue of the collection of the nomination forms by a crowd of supporters mostly youths and women groups.
Also present in solidarity with her was APC Deputy National Chairman, Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori and National Deputy Woman Leader Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim.
