EASTER CELEBRATION: NUJ FCT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, GRACE IKE, FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIANS, CALLS FOR HOPE, SACRIFICE, AND NATIONAL UNITY
I warmly felicitate with all Christian faithful in the Federal Capital Territory and across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Easter, commemorating the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Easter represents the cornerstone of the Christian faith, symbolising victory over death, the triumph of light over darkness, and the promise of redemption and eternal hope. It is a season that calls for deep reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, love, forgiveness, and selfless service to humanity, as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The solemnity of the Lenten season preceding Easter, marked by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity, is a testament to the spiritual commitment of Christians. These noble values remain essential in fostering peaceful coexistence, moral integrity, and compassion within our society.
As we celebrate Easter, I urge Christian faithful, particularly members of our noble profession, to uphold and sustain these virtues in their daily lives. Let us continue to promote truth, fairness, and responsibility in the discharge of our duties, while contributing meaningfully to national development.
This sacred occasion also serves as a reminder to all Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic background, to embrace unity, tolerance, and mutual respect. Our collective strength lies in our diversity, and it is through shared values and common purpose that we can overcome our national challenges.
I call on citizens to extend love and kindness to the less privileged, remembering that Easter is not only a celebration of faith but also a season of giving, compassion, and renewed commitment to humanity.
Furthermore, I urge leaders at all levels to draw inspiration from the spirit of sacrifice and service that Easter embodies, by prioritising the welfare of the people, promoting justice, and fostering inclusive governance.
While celebrating, I encourage everyone to do so responsibly and in an atmosphere of peace and goodwill.
