The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, heartily congratulates two outstanding media leaders, Evelyn Onyilo and Grace Ike, on their well-deserved induction into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
This remarkable achievement is a testament to their enduring commitment to professionalism, excellence, and ethical standards in communication and public engagement.

Evelyn Onyilo, a seasoned media professional, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Maiduguri (1996). With over 22 years of distinguished service as a television journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), she has contributed immensely to the growth of broadcast journalism in Nigeria. A former National President of NAWOJ and currently the Publisher of Phenomenal People Magazine, Evelyn continues to inspire generations of women journalists through her leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to the profession. As a Rotarian, she has also demonstrated strong commitment to service and community development.

Grace Ike, the current Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has etched her name in history as the first woman to occupy the position in over four decades. A broadcaster per excellence and a true people’s leader, her journey through the ranks including serving as Chairman of the National Assembly Press Corps and Vice Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel reflects her competence, resilience, and passion for journalism. Within just two years of her leadership, she has transformed the NUJ FCT Council through innovative initiatives, progressive reforms, and a people-centered approach that continues to uplift the welfare and capacity of journalists.
Their induction into NIPR is not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for the media community, especially women in journalism. It reinforces the critical role of credible communication, strategic public relations, and ethical storytelling in shaping society.
NAWOJ FCT celebrates these exceptional women for their trailblazing achievements and their continued impact on the media landscape. We are confident that they will bring their wealth of experience and integrity to bear in advancing the ideals of the public relations profession in Nigeria.
Once again, Congratulations to Evelyn Onyilo and Grace Ike on this prestigious recognition.
