Her Regal Majesty, Queen Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi, Wife of His Emperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife has been honoured with an Award of Excellence as one of the 50 Outstanding Women in Nigeria.
The Award was conferred on her at a ceremony in commemorating the International Women’s Day held at the Wells Carlton Hotels Abuja.
In her message to the event, Queen Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi commended women for their brilliance resilience and transformative power thereby shaping our communities and strengthening the foundations of our nation.
Her Regal Majesty who was represented at the ceremony by the Publisher of Phenomenal People Magazine Evelyn Onyilo, spoke on the theme, ” Balancing Tradition and Modern Leadership: The Strategic Role of Women in Nation Building.
She noted that the true strength of a woman lies not in abandoning tradition for modernity, but in harmonizing both.
Balancing tradition and modern leadership she pointed out, also means understanding that a woman can be many things at once- a leader, a professional, a mother, a wife, a mentor and a nation builder- without diminishing her excellence in any role.
Queen Temitope Morenike Enitan-Ogunwusi then commended the organisers of the awards for celebrating and honouring women and congratuled all the award recipients urging them to do more for humanity.
Other Award recipients included the former Minister of State FCT Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, Former Director General NAPTIP Dr. Julie Donli, Princess Folasade Olabanji – Oba, Dr Aisha Achimugu, Ms Lois Auta, President Women With Disabilities Network among others.
The event brought together distinguished women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and advocates from across Nigeria to celebrate excellence, leadership, and the outstanding contributions of women to national development.
The conference featured insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and inspiring messages focused on empowering women and promoting gender equality. A major highlight of the event was the recognition of 50 outstanding women of excellence in Nigeria, who were honoured for their remarkable achievements and impact in their various fields.
The event was well attended by dignitaries, stakeholders, and invited guests who commended the initiative for promoting women’s empowerment and celebrating role models who continue to inspire the next generation.
