President and Founder of the Initiative for Women’s Accelerated Development in Africa, INWOAD Ms Evelyn Onyilo has congratulated Chief Bema Olvadi Madayi on her appointment as Federal Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission by President Bola Tinubu.
She described the appointment as a befitting recognition of an illustrious career marked by integrity, dedication, and service. A seasoned administrator, banker, and accomplished grassroots mobiliser, Chief Mrs. Madayi has distinguished herself in the over three decades in public service and politics demonstrating uncommon commitment to equity, inclusion, and community development.
Her leadership journey reflects unwavering advocacy for women’s empowerment, agricultural transformation, and participatory governance.
Through years of strategic engagement, she has inspired young leaders, strengthened institutional accountability, and advanced developmental priorities central to national progress. Adamawa State, and indeed Nigeria, stand to benefit greatly from her wealth of experience and her proven capacity to foster unity across social and cultural divides.

There are eight women among the Federal Character Commission’s current commissioners. Mrs. Bema Olvadi Madayi – Adamawa State Obongawan Dora Ebong – Akwa Ibom, Hon. Nnoli Nkechi Gloria – Anambra, Dr. Stella Odey Ekpo – Cross River, Ederin Lovette Idisi – Delta, Ruth Jumai Ango – Kaduna.
The Chairperson of the Commission Chief Ayo Hulayat Omidiran is also a woman.
